Modernism Week is one of the most established events for architects in the US, running every year in Palm Springs, California. The focus is midcentury and modern architecture, interiors, landscape design, art, and vintage culture.
There are two editions to know. A shorter one runs October 15–18, 2026. The main festival follows February 11–21, 2027, and stretches across eleven days.
Both editions share the same core format:

Palm Springs still has one of the largest collections of intact midcentury homes anywhere in the US. Full program details aren’t out yet for either edition. What’s confirmed: the October 2026 preview goes up July 25, 2026, with tickets on sale August 1. The 2027 preview follows October 25, 2026, with tickets opening November 1. A full session count and exhibitor list for 2027 hasn’t been released.
2. Greenbuild International Conference & Expo 2026

This time, though, the festival itself lands in Fort Lauderdale, not Miami. Live awards judging sits at the core of the event, alongside conference talks, exhibitions, tours, and networking sessions spread across three days.
Water is this year’s theme, a natural fit for a host city built on its waterfront. Talks and juried presentations connect that theme to climate adaptation, changing environmental conditions, resilient infrastructure, and how landscapes and urban development respond to rising seas.
Architects will find 416 shortlisted entries this year, covering completed buildings, future projects, interiors, and landscapes, all competing for the festival’s architecture awards. Finalists don’t submit boards and wait for a verdict; they walk into one of 17 judging rooms and present their work live, in front of international juries and an audience of peers.

The theme is “Architecture of Performance: Bodies / Buildings / Behaviors.” It pushes past the old idea of the discipline as a finished object. The Society of Architectural Historians will hold its 80th Annual International Conference in Chicago from April 14 to 18, 2027.
